When I first decided to add a blog to my website, I had these plans of posting every two weeks.....obviously that hasn't happened. Apologies if you were expecting some reading material on a regular basis. The recent changes in my life have opened my mind up to so many ideas that I've become totally overwhelmed.
I figured I would jump right back into markets, festivals, and shows to network and sell my art when I started the move to Calfornia. The complete opposite has happened. I've decided to take a step back from the craziness of art market lifestyle so that I can focus on exploring new mediums, taking classes and finding a more substantial voice for my art. I will continue to work with acrylic & wood in an abstract style, and those pieces will be available for sale through my etsy shop (click Shop Now from the Main Menu) for the time being. To put my thoughts about exploration into action, I have signed up for a non-credit extension class this July at the California College of the Arts (CCA) in Oakland. The class I will be taking is 'Adobe Creative Cloud Intensive', a 3 day intensive course in Adobe's InDesign, Illustrator & Photoshop. I am nervous but excited to be trying something new, and very excited to explore Oakland while I am there. The class starts on the 22nd of July, so check back here toward the end of Summer for a summary of the projects I worked on.
Also, check back in couple weeks for a post on a Pop-Up event I will be participating in at a thrift boutique in Petaluma, CA.
P.S. If you're interested in learning more about the extension classes offered at CCA, click here.
